PURPOSE: A press type rotary engine is provided to increase the heat efficiency by reciprocating a piston one time in the case that a rotary body rotate one time. CONSTITUTION: A long diameter having a bottom dead center(D-1) between both top dead centers(D-2) of an explosion exhaust part of an elliptical guide rod(D) is a half perfect circle. A perfectly circular type guide surface inwardly contacting with a guide roller of an induction bar is formed in the half of a perfect circle to smoothly move in accord with movement of a piston(B). An interrupting plate(32) is installed in front of an intake and exhaust hole(46) of a rotary body(C) and a space part(30) is formed in a housing(A) to be charged with explosive gas coming from the intake and exhaust hole, and to form a gas rod for obtaining propulsive force. A propulsive plate(34) is installed at an exhaust port(12) to exhaust the explosive gas.
