The procedure for the manufacture of a stiffened profiled frame support entails inserting in a cavity in the profile a semi-finished product which is close to a final contour and which leaves a gap. The semi-finished product is then expanded by heating. Before the expanding of the semi-finished product (14) the profiled frame support (1) is subjected to a surface coating including also the gap (13) in the cavity, and the expanding takes place in the course of a subsequent surface coating drying process.
