A method for achieving multifunctional embedded system at least comprises the steps of: boot a computer; activate BIOS, and record function key code pressed by an user; if the user doesn't press any function key, activate PC's operating system, and then end the start-up process; otherwise, activate embedded operating system corresponding to the function key code in according to the recorded function key code, and then activate the function software corresponding to the function key code. The present invention achieves a multifunctional embedded system on PC hardware architecture, and realizes multiple applications on a single system while ensuring the reliable and stable running of the embedded operating system, therefore makes full use of hardware resource and realizes multiple purposes on a single machine and achieves multifunction of the system; and achieves multifunction boot at start-up.
