A maintaining device for the passenger of a motorcycle, disposed on the tank of said motorcycle, characterized in that it comprises maintaining elements (10 et 10') each of which is provided with a fixing area (11, respectively 11') cooperating with a tank and a part (12 respectively 12') forming a grip and support handle for the passenger, said part (11 or 11') cooperating in a liberal manner with a tank mat or other equivalent device occupying the same position on the motorcycle via at least two liberal fixing points (13 and 14, respectively 13' and 14') and in that the part (12 or 12') forming a grip and support handle for the passenger is situated inside the alignment of fixing points (13 and 14, respectively 13' and 14') of the part (11, respectively 11').
