A pyrimidine derivative compound of formula (I) or a salt thereof and a method for the preparation thereof. The pyrimidine derivative of formula (I) or a salt thereof is useful as important synthetic intermediate for a pharmaceutical a drug. The method for the preparation of the present invention can provide the compound of formula (E), which is useful as a pharmaceutical drug, more efficiently than conventional method does.
