摘要 In the production of furnace black, the hot gaseous suspension of carbon is quenched by injection of light oils thereby producing unsaturated aliphatic compounds, for example ethylene, by cracking said oils. Conventional water quenching may supplement the oil quenching and higher proportions of unsaturated compounds may be produced by wholly or partially replacing the combustion air by oxygen. The light oils have boiling-points 30-130 DEG C., e.g. crude benzines, and the product gases have improved calorific value of about 900 K cals./m.3.ALSO:In the production of furnace black, the hot gaseous suspension of carbon is quenched by injection of light oils thereby producing unsaturated aliphatic compounds for example, ethylene, by cracking said light oils.
