Oil container (1) for a hydraulic system, especially a steering system, comprises an oil outlet (2) fluidically connected to a spray bore (3) of a pressure relief valve (4), and an oil inlet (5) from the hydraulic system. A tubular flow channel (6) arranged in the oil container downstream of the oil outlet has an internal cross-section (7) and a length that are chosen so that undissolved gas bubbles (9) in the oil (8) are dissolved in the tubular flow channel. Preferred Features: The tubular flow channel is a hose (10) arranged in a spiral-shape in the oil container. The internal cross-section of the tubular flow channel is approximately constant over its length.
