PURPOSE: A method is provided to achieve improved yield rate of copper and prevent an environmental contamination, while allowing for a re-utilization of the separated coatings. CONSTITUTION: A method is characterized in that a waste cable coating is cooled and applied with an impact and load such that the waste cable coating is separated from a main cable. The temperature of the waste cable coating is lowered by using a low temperature liquid storage(4) containing a liquid nitrogen, or a cooling unit(5) containing a refrigerant. The waste cable coating is applied with an impact and load from a hammer, a press or an explosive. Alternatively, the waste cable coating is applied with an impact generated from a rotating blade(7) and a motor(8).
