BISPHENOL-S EPOXY RESIN AND PREPARATION METHOD THEREOF

PURPOSE: Provided is a bisphenol-S epoxy resin represented by the formula 1 which can substitute bisphenol-A and bisphenol-F type epoxy resin due to better physical properties than existing bisphenol-A and bisphenol-F type epoxy resin. The bisphenol-S epoxy resin has a glass transition temperature of 75-100deg.C and is semi-solid. CONSTITUTION: The method for preparing a bisphenol-S epoxy resin comprises the steps of: mixing bisphenol-S and epichlorohydrin in a ratio of 1:3-5; adding 0.5-1 mole (based on 1 mole of bisphenol-S) of 30-45% sodium hydroxide as catalyst; and reacting them at 90-140deg.C for 6-10 hours and hardening by a hardener.
