An inkjet printing method comprises loading a printer with an inkjet recording element having a non-absorbing substrate, and with an inkjet ink composition comprising an aqueous inkjet ink composition comprising a pigment, a polymer binder of less than 25 wt.% hydrophilic monomer, surfactant(s), and a humectant; and printing on the recording element accompanied by a heating step using the ink composition in response to the digital data signals.
