PURPOSE: An image forming apparatus generating negative ions is provided to generate negative ions from the image forming apparatus including a high-voltage generator. CONSTITUTION: An image forming apparatus having a high-voltage generator(130) includes a negative ion generator(150). The negative ion generator generates negative ions using a high voltage generated by the high-voltage generator. The image forming apparatus further includes a voltage controller(140) for increasing or decreasing a level of the high voltage applied to the negative ion generator. The voltage controller is provided between the high-voltage generator and the negative ion generator.
