<p>The system has a jitter buffer (310) external to a voice processor (340) adapted to hold a received voice packets from a network (300). The buffer is adapted to place an indicator in the packets, where the indicator shows how long the voice packet was held in the jitter. The voice processor is adapted to synchronously retrieve voice packets from the buffer for processing the packets. An independent claim is also included for a method of operating a packet voice communication system.</p> |
