Display device with input signal checking

The device has a display unit (117) and a set of different video signal inputs (111). A signal checking (115), a signal identifying (113), a signal controlling (116) and a signal changing (114) units are configured for automatic sequential testing of the presence of appropriate signals at the inputs. The units terminate testing when the signal is detected, and a screen controlling signal is outputted to the display unit. An independent claim is also included for a method of checking a signal input into a displaying device.
