System and method for downloading multimedia content

The downloading of multimedia content to a terminal (50;60,70) is via a mobile telephone network (10) having a speech recognition system (40) and a database (30). The terminal sends a voice request which is used to extract possible interpretations from the database. The user selects the correct interpretation, and the terminal returns this to the server, which initiates download.
