PURPOSE: Provided is an artificial fingernail which is excellent in the feeling of wearing and can maintain the keeping quality of the artificial fingernail incase of attaching the artificial fingernail to a natural fingernail and a method for making the same. CONSTITUTION: The artificial fingernail(30) for the nail art is formed of ABS synthetic resin. The artificial fingernail(30) is formed in the same shape as a natural fingernail and includes an upper surface section(31) on which a glitter layer, a decal layer or a desired pattern is drawn and a lower surface section(32) formed integrally with the upper surface section(31). The lower surface section(32) is provided at the portion coupling to the natural fingernail with a stepped section(40) so that no step is formed between the natural fingernail and the artificial fingernail(30) when the artificial fingernail(30) is attached to the natural fingernail.
