Method of displaying images and apparatus for doing the same

The method involves dividing one sub-field (SF1,SF2) among sub-fields (SF1 to SF5) for constituting an image signal. The sub-fields has predetermined luminance and pseudo-doubling a frequency of image signal. The signal is characterized by selecting divided sub-field to a non-divided sub-field for a grey scale when frequency less than 60 hz, at which images can be displayed with divided sub-field. An independent claim is also included for an apparatus for displaying images.
