The injector (100) has a liquid injection mechanism (107) for injecting contrast medium into a patient. A pattern storing function (128) registers variable pattern data in which an injection rate of the medium for keeping a fluoroscopic image contrast in a predetermined range varies with time. A rate controlling function (129) varies an operating speed of the injection mechanism with time based on the pattern.
