The digital word transmission organiser has digital word transmission from a waiting queue (B1,B2,B3) in a node source (1) towards destination nodes (N1,N2,N3) via a number of ports (P1 to P4). Each output is associated with an organiser (OR1 to OR4). There are a number of servers (S1 to S4) each server being associated with organiser resources which are independent of the server.
