Sheet-shaped metallic material for foodstuff packing

The sheet (10) of a malleable aluminum alloy has a surface coated with intermediate layer of a vinyl lacquer (12). A successive main layer of vinyl lacquer (14) in which uniformly dispersed silver granules (16) is incorporated. The silver granules have an average gauge of 0.1 to 5 micrometer. The intermediate layer acts as a barrier between silver granules and aluminum, where the layers are deposited by rotogravure coating.
