The method involves feeding sheets of a packaging material along a sheet conveyor of a conveyor belt in a configuration having an accumulated part of material which is of undulating type with a single peak. A wrapping bar picks up the accumulated part of the material in the proximity of an opening and then carries out the phase of conveying the sheet. An independent claim is also included for a packaging machine of a sleeve type which wraps sheets of packaging material around objects.
