PURPOSE: A folder type portable telephone is provided to control on/off operations of either the first microphone or the second microphone based on a rotational operation state of a cover for opening/shutting a front side of a telephone body, thereby making a call without opening the cover and freely rotating the cover in various directions. CONSTITUTION: A telephone body(10) has a display window(11) and many input buttons(12) on a front side, forms the first microphone(16) in a lower part of each input button(12), and disposes many control buttons(13) on a side. A cover(20) has the first receiver(26) on an inner upper side. A hinge unit is disposed between the telephone body(10) and the cover(20), and rotates the cover(20) on the front side of the telephone body(10). The second microphone(18) is disposed on at least either one rear side of the cover(20) or a side except the front side of the telephone body(10), and transmits a predetermined voice signal. The second receiver(28) is installed on the hinge unit, being exposed even when the cover(20) closes the front side of the telephone body(10), and receives the voice signal. A controller controls on/off operations of either the first microphone(16) or the second microphone(18) based on a rotational operation state of the cover(20).
