L-BAND FIBER AMPLIFIER

PURPOSE: An L-band fiber amplifier is provided to control the second pumping amount of an erbium-doped fiber and improve a characteristic of instantaneous gain variation by using the second pumping light source. CONSTITUTION: An L-band fiber amplifier includes the first pumping light source(230), a photo detector(211), an erbium-doped fiber(240), the second pumping light source(212), and an electronic control circuit(210). The first pumping light source(230) generates the first pumping light of a predetermined wavelength. The photo detector(211) is used for detecting the intensity of an inputted optical signal. The erbium-doped fiber(240) is used for outputting ASE(Amplified Spontaneous Emission) of C-band according to the first pumping light and inductive light of L-band according to the ASE. The second pumping light source(212) generates the second pumping light according to a control signal and controls the second pumping amount of the erbium-doped fiber. The electronic control circuit(210) produces a channel number and the amount of loss from the intensity of the inputted optical signal and outputs an output control signal to the second pumping light source.
