PURPOSE: A preventing device of a vapor-lock and its method are provided to prevent the extension of a brake pedal stroke and to sufficiently secure the braking force by maximizing the hydraulic pressure of a brake when a vapor-lock is generated. CONSTITUTION: A hydraulic sensor(20) outputs the hydraulic pressure of each wheel to an ECU(Electronic Control Unit,16). The hydraulic pressure of each wheel is compared when a braking is operated in a normal driving. A vapor-lock is checked when each hydraulic pressure is not same. In generating the vapor-lock, an ABS(Anti-lock Brake System) actuator(12) is controlled to generate the maximum hydraulic pressure in the corresponding wheel. The process is returned to control the ABS actuator if the hydraulic pressure of each wheel is not same again. A relative variation of each hydraulic pressure is compared with a set range. The process is returned to the controlling process of the ABS actuator when the relative variation is over the set range. Otherwise, a normal ABS control mode is performed. Thereby, the reduction of braking force is prevented.
