A munition (1) contains a cone-shaped, funnel-shaped or curved layer (4) for providing a directed explosive charge function and a shell (7) for providing a shrapnel function. In a starting position or state, the shell providing the shrapnel function hinders the directed explosive charge function, and then in a new position or state it allows the layer for providing this latter function to carry it out. A munition (1) in the form of e.g. a projectile, shell or missile can have either a directed explosive charge function or a shrapnel function, the choice of function being actuated either manually or using a control device. The munition contains an explosive part (3), a substantially cone-shaped, funnel-shaped or curved layer (4) for providing a directed explosive charge function and a shell (7) for providing a shrapnel function, including shrapnel pieces (8) in the form of e.g. balls or fragments. In a starting position or state, the shell providing the shrapnel function hinders the directed explosive charge function, and then in a new position or state it allows the layer for providing this function to carry it out. |
