A method of facilitating digital file transcoding wherein a transcoding proile is crated (102). This process begins with receiving profile requirements from the profile designer (115) and then recording the requirements into a profile template (117). Next, block 119, of Figure 2, the profile template is configured. Upon completion of this step, the configured profile is tested with one or more sample source files to determine whether acceptable video and audio streaming performance is achieved for a target audience (121). If the test is not passed, then the configured profile is modified by block 123, and retested by block 121. If the test is passed, the final profile is stored in block 125. |
