PURPOSE: A liquid crystal display and a method for fabricating the liquid crystal display are provided to form a gate insulating layer having various thickness. CONSTITUTION: A liquid crystal display includes the first and second thin film transistors, and a gate insulating layer(62,72,78). The first thin film transistor drives liquid crystal cells formed at intersections of a plurality of signal lines included in a display part. The second thin film transistor is included in a driving circuit formed in a display panel together with the display part. The gate insulating layer is formed between a gate electrode(56,86) and an active layer(54) included in each of the first and second thin film transistors. The gate insulating layer is formed of at least two layers having an etch stopper. The gate insulating layer has different thickness in the first and second thin film transistors.
