PURPOSE: A vehicle position tracking system and its method are provided to provide an accurate and reliable LBS(Location Based Service) service by tracking an accurate position of a vehicle. CONSTITUTION: According to the method of a vehicle position tracking system tracking a position of a vehicle by communicating with a terminal(20) installed on the vehicle traveling along a route through a wireless network(30), information as to the route is generated. Then, the generated route information is provided to the terminal. And the position of the vehicle is measured on the basis of search information provided from the terminal and the route information.
