FIELD: plastic metal working, possibly manufacture of cone retainers with bead, mainly of large-size bearing assemblies. SUBSTANCE: method comprises steps of cutting measured-length strip blanks; making on each blank along its whole length longitudinal concentrator spaced from edge by distance equal to bead width and being in the form of groove with apex angle equal to angle between lateral wall of retainer and its bead; punching windows for rollers in measured-length blank; bending strip blank to ring and welding its ends for producing annular blank; heating part of annular blank along its height at least until 750 C and expanding said part for forming cone; then squeezing annular blank in die set, expanding it, shaping bead bent inside and sizing blank during one stroke of press.
