The scarifier (1), consisting of a handle (4) and a blade holder (2), both preferably of stainless steel, made to receive a blade (10) with a cutting edge, has the handle connected to the blade holder by a pivot that allows it to be fixed at any angle to its lengthwise axis. The axis of the pivot lies perpendicular to the plane of the blade holder and has a screw (14) and nut (15) passing through holes in overlapping flat portions of the two components. The zone connecting the handle and blade holder has a certain elasticity to absorb excessive force applied to it during use.
