Method for analyzing heparins (I), including low molecular weight heparins (Ia), by depolymerization of a sample with heparinases; optionally reducing the depolymerized products and determination by HPLC. Independent claims are also included for the four new 1,6-anhydro derivatives of formulae (IIa) -(IId).
