Use of an NF-êB inhibitor/inducer, or a vector comprising nucleic acid encoding an NF-êB inhibitor or inducer, and an antigenic molecule, or polynucleotide encoding an antigenic molecule, in the manufacture of a medicament for inhibiting antigen presentation or inducing an anergic response in a mammal, or when an NF-êB inducer is used- stimulating an immune response or stimulating antigen presentation, wherein the medicament is formulated for separate, sequential or simultaneous administration of the inhibitor and antigen. Also covered are uses of the medicament for treating an autoimmune disease, an allergic reaction and for preventing transplant rejection by inducing an anergic response in a mammal, and for treating an infectious disease or a cancer when an NF-êB inducer is used, as well as polynucleotides encoding said inhibitor/inducer and said antigenic molecule.
