PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide communications equipment which does not use a plurality of batteries and is connected between a line and a terminal device like a meter and operated. SOLUTION: In the communication equipment, there are provided a data-processing part 5 for analyzing data received from a communication processing part 4, which performs communication and for forming data to be transmitted from the communication-processing part 4; a meter interface part 6, which is connected with a data processing part 5 which performs reception/transmission processing of data from a terminal device 11 like a gas meter are installed; further, a receiving buffer 8, which treats received data from the terminal device 11; a transmission buffer 7 which treats transmission data to the terminal device 11; a battery 9 for supplying power to each part; and a set-up circuit part 12; which sets up a voltage of the battery 9, when data transmission is executed with the transmission buffer 7 and supplies power to the transmission buffer 7. As a result, since circuit power source can be set as the voltage of the battery 9, so that power source voltage can be unified into one kind. COPYRIGHT: (C)2004,JPO
