PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a recyclable tape cassette in which a spring members is constituted of a small number of parts. SOLUTION: This tape cassette comprises a shell case made by combining an upper shell and a lower shell; a pair of tape reels 9 housed in the shell case; a front cover 10 opening and closing the cassette at a front surface of the shell case; a lock plate 11 locks and releases the front cover; and a brake member engaging and separating to/from a rotation stopper 9h of the pair of tape reels. The spring member 13 energizing and pressing a shaft center head part of the tape reel, a spring member 2c energizing and pressing the front cover in the direction of closing, a spring member 11e energizing and pressing the lock plate in the direction of lock, and a spring member engaging and separating the brake members to/from the rotation stopper of the tape reel are made respectively in leaf spring structure, these leaf springs are constituted of plastic material which can be handled and recovered as the same material as the shell case 2, 3, the front cover 10, and the lock plate 11.
