MULTIMEDIA DATA DISTRIBUTING SYSTEM AND ITS DEVICE AND METHOD

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide distribution technology for reducing burden on a server and shortening a response time when distributing multimedia data in a client/server system connected via a network such as the Internet or an intranet. SOLUTION: This data distributing system comprises a distribution server device 1 and a plurality of client devices 4 in such a manner that theses are in a state to be associated with each other. The distribution server device 1 has a distribution status management system 3 for managing data held by itself on the basis of each divided data in distributing the data. The client devices 4 each has a proxy server 6 for standing proxy for the distribution server device 1 in distributing the data as divided data distributed to the client devices 4 in accordance with the instructions of the distribution status management system 3.
