PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide particles for display which can be driven at a low driving voltage and to provide a display apparatus using them. SOLUTION: The particles for diply are two-color rotation particles(display particles) 13 having at least two colors on the surface and moving in a dielectric liquid 14 by the effect of an electric field to selectively display one of the two colors. The particles for display are characterized in that a material having a functional group which generates acidity or a functional group which generates alkalinity, is incorporated into the part displaying one of the two colors in the particle.
