PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To simplify and raise accuracy of a thickness measuring system in a manufacturing line of broad sheet material. SOLUTION: The thickness distribution of a broad sheet material in width direction is measured by continuously scanning a displacement detector to output the thickness, on the basis of laser scanner in the constitution.
