摘要 PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To secure the clearance volume of a oil pan without lowering the ground height of the oil pan, and increase an oil margin during circulation. SOLUTION: A hydraulic control valve unit 24 to control the hydraulic system of a continuously variable transmission is divided into a high pressure valve unit 24a to generate a secondary pressure and a primary pressure to operate a primary pulley and a secondary pulley, respectively, and a low pressure valve unit 24b to set a clutch and a brake pressure applied on a clutch and a brake, respectively. The two valve units 24a and 24b are intercommunicated through a hydraulic feed passage 30 formed in a transmission case 14, the high pressure valve unit 24a is situated in a high pressure valve chamber 19 consisting of an oil pan 18 and the bottom of the transmission case 14, and the low pressure valve unit 24b is situated in a low pressure valve chamber 20 formed at the topmost part of the transmission case 14. Since only the high pressure valve unit 24a is situated in the oil pan 18, the clearance capacity can be secured even if an oil pan volume is as in the past. COPYRIGHT: (C)2004,JPO
