PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a vibration suppression retainer for antifriction bearings that is inexpensive, can be machined easily, has high vibration suppression effect, can easily detect noise variation, and is suited for a self-aligning roller bearing, and to provide the usage of the vibration suppression retainer for antifriction bearing. SOLUTION: A retainer 4 in an antifriction bearing 10 is obtained by press-machining a composite vibration-damping steel sheet. Additionally, the self-aligning roller bearing is in a bowl shape or in a conical shape. Further, a section where a large end section 41, a collar section 42 extended in the direction of the inner ring of the bearing, a post 44 extended in an axial direction to a peripheral surface 43 in a bowl shape or a conical shape, two steel sheets that provide a pocket 25 formed between the posts and forms the composite vibration-damping steel sheet that is a material for the retainer for rolling, and a viscoelastic resin that is pinched by the steel sheets are exposed is positioned at the large-end section, an inner surface 45a in the pocket, and a termination 42a in the collar section.
