PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a base isolator for preventing a crane from running off in an earthquake, and being available at low facility costs while maintaining the function of base isolation for a long period of time. SOLUTION: The base isolator has laminated rubber 11 positioned between a crane body 1 and a travel device mounted below the crane body 1 for causing the crane body 1 to travel along rails. The travel device is provided with a spring mechanism 12 which supports the crane body 1 and enables the crane body 1 to move horizontally if a bending moment load exceeding a design value acts on the laminated rubber 11.
