PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To carry out a precise quantitative behavioral analysis so as to meet even requests of genetic studies.

SOLUTION: A system 1 for analyzing behaviors is equipped with a charge-coupled device (CCD) camera 3 picking up images of zebrafish F in an aquarium 2 at ≥8 frames/s frame rate and a usual measuring part 14A obtaining observed data from the images. A part 14B for evaluating chasing behaviors evaluates the mutual chasing behaviors of the zebrafishes F based on the positions and speeds which are the observed data of the zebrafishes F. The fractal dimension of swimming loci is computed on the basis of swimming loci which are observed data of the zebrafishes F with a fractal dimension computing part 14C. Thereby, the behavioral analysis of the zebrafish having a high swimming speed though optimal as an experimental animal for the genetic studies can quantitatively and precisely be carried out.
