摘要 <P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an enzyme and its gene participating in the biosynthesis of vicenistatin for the enzymological production of useful vicenistatin. <P>SOLUTION: The base sequence of vin cluster which is a gene group encoding a vicenistatin biosynthesis enzyme group has been clarified by the invention. A sugar transferase (VinC enzyme) catalyzez the reaction for forming vicenistatin by using dTDP-vicenisamine as a substrate and a gene (vinC gene) encodes the enzyme. The VinC enzyme is useful for the enzymological synthesis of the useful vicenisamine. The possibility of the synthesis of unknown polyketide glycosides is shown by the use of the VinC enzyme. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2004,JPO
