<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To suitably coordinate an opening of a bypass passage which forms a datum of an idle control to a control pulse of a step motor in an intake air flow controller for an engine. <P>SOLUTION: In a control unit, an operation of the step motor can be controlled to conduct the idle control after a totally closed position of a throttle valve is detected by an idle switch. When coordinating the opening of the bypass passage which forms the datum of the idle control to the control pulse of the step motor, the operating pulse number of the step motor is reset so that the position driven to the valve open side by a predetermined amount after the idle control valve is temporarily driven to the totally closed position forms the datum of the control. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2004,JPO |
