PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To sufficiently improve combustion characteristics so as to respond to recent exhaust gas regulation and fuel consumption regulation by significantly changing flowing characteristics, in an intake control device of internal combustion engine, to enhance an optional gas flow (swirl flow, tumble flow) according to the traveling condition of a vehicle. SOLUTION: An intake passage comprises a first intake passage located on the upstream side and having a throttle valve, and a second intake passage located on the downstream side and having an intake control valve. The passage sectional area of the second intake passage is set larger than that of the first intake passage. The intake control valve comprises a valve shaft and a valve element, and the valve element has a cutout part in a part located below the valve shaft in a mounted state. COPYRIGHT: (C)2004,JPO
