PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an automobile cruising control method showing a superior safety or a superior comfortable state. SOLUTION: A maximum allowable acceleration is calculated in reference to a vehicle stability, a driver's comfortable feeling characteristic, a road surface information or traffic information and a preference of driver's acceleration and the like. A feed-back gain at a vehicle speed feed-back control is optionally corrected on the basis of the maximum allowable acceleration and an actual acceleration information in such a way that the acceleration does not exceed the actual acceleration in respect to the maximum allowable acceleration so as to perform an acceleration limit processing. With this arrangement, it becomes possible to perform a vehicle speed control within a desired acceleration range even under a situation in which a vehicle deviation at the time of resume is high and an excessive vehicle acceleration may easily be attained under a normal vehicle speed feed-back control, and thus it is possible to realize an automobile cruising control having a superior safety or a superior comfortable feeling.
