PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method for manufacturing a tire by a multi-split tire molding drum which can improve a tire quality by preventing cord of a tire reinforcing member from being disordered at a tire molding time and preventing a product tire from being vibrated, worn or the like and to provide a structure of a multi-split tire molding drum. SOLUTION: In a first embodiment of the tire molding drum 1, surfaces of a plurality of drum segments 2A-2F and 2a-2f each made of a metal are previously coated with a predetermined amount of a sliding lubricating material Q such as a stearic acid or the like. A cylindrical tire constituting member W inserted at a drum radially contracting time reduces frictions between inner peripheral surface of the member W and surfaces of drum segments 2A-2F and 2a-2f at a drum radially enlarging time, that is, the inner peripheral surface of the member W smoothly slides without being engaged to hold the tire constituting member W.
