PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a hard disk drive whose stable operation is guaranteed under a low temperature environment. SOLUTION: This disk drive is provided with a 1st disk 3A having a BPI conformed with the operation guaranteed temperature range (1st operation guaranteed temperature range) and a 2nd disk 3B having a BPI to guarantee the stable operation in the low temperature environment (2nd operation guaranteed temperature range). When the environment temperature is equal to or higher than the lowest temperature T1 of the 1st operation guaranteed temperature range, the information is preferentially recorded on the 1st disk 3A, and when the environment temperature is in the range lower than T1 and also equal to or higher than the lowest temperature T2 of the 2nd operation guaranteed temperature range, the information is recorded on the 2nd disk 3B, and after the temperature becomes T1 or higher, the information recorded on the 2nd disk 3B is moved to the 1st disk 3A by utilizing the idle time, etc., of the hard disk drive 1.
