<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an acid liquid leakage sensor and an electrical insulator for use in the same, which can quickly detect the leakage of liquid from a device such as a battery, which is charged with an acid liquid. <P>SOLUTION: A first electric conductor 22, a second electric conductor 23 which is composed of a substance having a value of an ionization tendency different from that of the substance constituting the first electric conductor, and a coating layer 24 with which the first electric conductor 22 and the second electric conductor 23 are coated and which is made of the electric insulator electrically insulating therebetween are provided. In the battery liquid leakage sensor 20 (acid liquid leakage sensor), the electric insulator reacts with the acid liquid to decrease the electrical insulating property, and electromotive force generated by the difference in the ionization tendency between electrodes is detected. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2004,JPO |
