<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a transflective liquid crystal display device capable of displaying a color image with excellent quality in a reflective displaymode and also in a transmissive display mode. <P>SOLUTION: A reflection film 8 is formed on the rear side of a liquid crystal element 1 more backward than a liquid crystal layer 4 corresponding to predetermined regions in a plurality of pixels A. A reflection part A1 is formed by the region where the reflection film 8 is disposed on a plurality of the pixels A in which light incident from the front side is reflected by the reflection film 8 and is emitted to the front side. A transmission part A2 is formed by the other region, in which light incident from the rear side is transmitted and is emitted to the front side. At the same time, color filters 9R, 9G, 9B, with a plurality of openings 10 formed on parts corresponding to the reflection part A1 of the pixels A, are disposed on the inside surface of a front side substrate 2 corresponding to respective pixels of a plurality of the pixels A. A flattening transparent film 11 which buries the inside of the openings 10 is formed on the color filters 9R, 9G, 9B. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2004,JPO |
