PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a seismic-response controlled structure of a column base, which can easily secure the safety of a structure during an earthquake by imparting a seismic-response controlled function to the column base. SOLUTION: This seismic-response controlled structure is characterized in that: the base of a column 2 is provided in a vertically displaceable manner in a state that horizontal displacement is restrained by a guide support 7 which is fixed to a foundation 1;and a base plate damper 3 for absorbing a tensile force by performing flexural yielding or shear yielding when the tensile force acts on the column 2 is interposed between the base and the foundation 1.
