PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a cutting tool that has high cutting performance such as wear resistance and defective-proof, wherein fixing of a tip to a holder is stabilized. SOLUTION: When x is assumed to be Vickers hardness from the outer most surface of the cutting tool made of a sintered hard alloy having a mounting hole 4 to a position of depth of 1 mm, the surface of the tool has a surface hardening layers 3 having Vickers hardness of 1.1x or more and thickness of 1μm or more. When y is assumed to be an average thickness of the surface hardening layers 3 in a region Y of the inner wall 4a of the mounting hole 4, a is an average thickness of the surface hardening layers 3 in a first region in a range of a distance A in the direction from a rake face 1 to a flank 2, and c is an average thickness of the surface hardening layers 3 in a second region in a range of a distance C in the direction from the flank 2 to the rake face 1, y>a≥0 is established in the whole range of A≤200μm, and y>c≥0 is established in the whole range of C≤500μm.
